Planning Approval for Howth Peninsular House
Posted by George Gunton - 19 December 2017

CDMS Architects has just achieved planning approval for this exciting new build house near Dublin. Located on the Howth Peninsular, with spectacular views out to the coast and across Dublin Bay, the house has been carefully located and proportioned to avoid impeding existing protected views from adjacent pathways in what is one of the most sensitive and protected areas in Ireland.

The house is clad in a combination of timber, glass and tradition local dry stonework sourced from a quarry less than a mile from the site. The lower level of house has been designed to be evocative of the stone outcroppings found across the peninsular, with the upper level a more lightweight open timber and glass structure. This contrast in materiality helps breakup the overall mass of what is a large new build home.

We are looking forward to starting on site towards the end of 2018.
