New Show Home
Posted by Chris Scarr - 28 July 2015

We have completed the interior fit out of a new show home in Crofton Park, London.  The house is part of a high quality eight-unit development, which CDMS Architects have designed.

The interior design combines contemporary pieces with retro 1960's styles and patterns to achieve a modern but homely feel.  At ground floor, the layout was adapted to introduce a large sliding feature walnut door which creates a flexible master suite or bedroom-bathroom-study at ground floor.  A large open plan living space has been divided in to three separate spaces with a built in picture frame shelf which links them together.  Further bedrooms and bathrooms are included at first floor and external dining and relaxing spaces have been formed within the rear garden.

CDMS Architects Wins Sussex Heritage Award
Posted by Corin Morton - 22 July 2015

CDMS Architects is thrilled to have been selected as winners of the 'Small Scale Residential' award for 2015 at this year's Sussex Heritage Awards, which recognises outstanding design throughout the region. Our award winning project saw the complete refurbishment and extension of Forge House in Storrington, a house situated in the centre of the village with a fascinating story of historical development over the years. The project featured the reinstatement of the property as as single family house, alongside an open plan extension to the rear, and replacement windows throughout.

Additionally, historic features were exposed and preserved as they were discovered, and the property was internally insulated, with great care taken to ensure compatibility with the original fabric.  The award was presented by Lord Egremont, chairman of the Sussex Heritage Trust, and accepted by Rob Meynel of CDMS Architects, Ross Murley of contractors Minton Young, and the clients.

Completion of the Upside Down House
Posted by James Patterson - 23 April 2015

Our renovation of a 1950’s detached property in Balcombe, West Sussex is now complete. The finished building includes a large frameless glass balcony to the rear, a single storey extension to the front and the re-planning of the existing internal layouts, modernising the house to meet the owners requirements.

Using large glass panels and delicate timbers to soften the facade, the contemporary extension to the front has already become very popular amongst the local residents in what is a very sensitive rural setting. We wish the owners a happy future in their new home.
