Mews Extension

CDMS Architects recently completed an extension of an end-of-mews three-storey Townhouse in Central Brighton to create an elegant open-plan Kitchen/Diner. The site is situated on the boundary of two conservation areas which required a sensitive and respectful approach.

Planning Approval

CDMS Architects recently gained planning and listed building consent to refurbish and extend a Grade II listed property in central Lewes. The proposal includes internal reconfiguration throughout, a rear ground floor extension providing a substantial kitchen/dining area, and a top floor studio conversion. The scheme aims to retain and enhance the character of the property while also creating bright, functional internal spaces.

Regency Refurbishment

CDMS Architects recently completed the refurbishment of a private residence within a central Brighton conservation area. The property is a Grade II listed Italianate villa-style dwelling constructed in the mid-nineteenth century. CDMS Architects was appointed to refurbish and re-configure the interior of the property which has lead to the reinstatement of many of the buildings original features.

Wandsworth Residence

CDMS Architects has recently completed this extension and refurbishment project to a private residence in Wandsworth. The house has been transformed in order to increase habitable living area as well as encourage light to enter throughout.

Rear extensions have been added at all three levels and circulation has also been improved within due to the introduction of a new stair configuration and by adapting the original layout to provide more functional living space. The works also included an excavated basement utility room and a luxurious master suite consisting of a spacious en-suite bathroom and dressing area.

Follow our live project on site in Devon from the discovery of a brown long-eared bat, re-housed into a new roosting box through to its programmed completion in April 2014. The house is built using a prefabricated timber frame, zinc roof, renewable energy design incorporating an air source heat pump, solar thermal panels, triple glazed windows, a whole house ventilation system, there is an annexe building and a tree house ecologically designed landscape creating new habitats for wildlife. The website blog will be updated daily using an onsite time-lapse camera to capture the build as it happens.
