The preparation of a masterplan to provide a strategy for the future development of the site, buildings and facilities at a local primary school. The existing school is largely formed of a Victorian building, previously a convent, and two prefabricated teaching blocks located on a tarmac playground. A large sloping playing field is located to the north of the site screened by mature trees.
The School was seeking to inspire its pupils, staff and the wider community. CDMS Architects undertook extensive research and consultation with the staff, pupils, parents and wider community in order to develop it's designs. The design process evoked varying masterplans, each offering different solutions to spatial arrangement, movement within the buildings and site, sustainability and project phasing.
