CDMS Architects has been appointed by Rocco Forte Hotels Ltd as Architect for the refurbishment of key areas within Brown’s Hotel, their 5* flagship hotel in Mayfair.
Brown’s was London’s first ever hotel. It opened its doors in 1837 under the watchful eye of Lady Byron’s maid Sarah Brown and her husband, James.
Made up of 11 Georgian townhouses, Brown’s has a rich and intriguing history. Distinguished guests have included presidents and prime ministers, royalty and writers.
As the first in a series of capital expenditure investments spanning over the next two years, this project sees the amalgamation of two existing double room types into a single large suite.
The new layout features an entrance vestibule, bathroom and living room with seating areas and built in bookshelves. A new structural opening leads through to a double bedroom, with walk in wardrobe and a further bathroom.
