Built in the latter part of the 18th century, this private house is a beautiful example of the heritage that lines the streets of Lewes. The four storey property with a long garden to the rear and spectacular views over the south downs due to its elevated position has been carefully refurbished to a detailed brief which saw many of the original features reinstated and restored.
The original staircase was reinstated as part of the construction works, and the basement was rationalised to provide a more open layout to suit the current occupier. The upper floor rooms were stripped back and reinstated to their original uses and the property was fully re-wired and re-plumbed to bring the services in line with modern requirements. Works completed in summer 2012.
