CDMS Architects has obtained a full planning permission for the extensive refurbishment of this landmark building in Brighton & Hove.
Located along the centre of Western Road, the building has been occupied by a number of tenants over the past decades and has fallen in to a poor state of repair both internally and externally. Our proposals include a full refurbishment of the building facade which will help modernise and refresh this part of the busy shopping district. An additional penthouse floor is being constructed on top of the existing building providing three luxurious apartments with dramatic panoramic views of the coastline and both historic piers.
Internally, a change of use planning application has ensured that 23 apartments are now spread over the upper four floors of the building. Each of the apartments has been carefully planned to ensure maximum floor space with generous open plan living areas and bedrooms, all with their own unique sea views. The scheme also includes 12 underground parking spaces.
The construction works are scheduled to commence in 2016, including careful logical coordination with the current ground floor tenants who will remain in place throughout.
