Designed for a stunning elevated site in West Sussex, this replacement dwelling takes in far reaching views of the South Downs National Park. The house contains large open plan living spaces to the ground floor together with strategically located utility and workshop hidden areas. At first floor an open plan study space leads to four bedrooms and bathrooms.
The cubic design is subtly arranged to a geometry grid which addresses the best vistas to the south west. A first floor terrace with frameless glazed balustrades maximizes the uninterrupted views, whilst to the rear a sedum roof add visual interest outside the master bathroom. Wherever possible, locally sourced materials have been specified ranging from a flint feature wall through to locally coppiced sweet chestnut screens and partial cladding. A ground source heat pump helps meet the heating and cooling.
