CDMS Architects were appointed to completely refurbish this large detached Victorian town house in South London. The proposed scheme involves a significant internal reconfiguration of the ground and first floors creating a large open reception area with a new central corridor which better connects the currently disjointed spaces.
The rear of the house opens up into a bright, contemporary, open plan new extension with a kitchen, dining area and entertainment space. On the first floor a large new master suite has been created with an en-suite bathroom, large dressing room and generous bedroom.
Careful consideration has gone into preserving and reinstating the original features of the property, architraves, feature mouldings and joinery details are to be retained and repaired whilst the new areas feature tasteful modern touches such as polished concrete floors, large skylights and minimalist steel frame patio doors.
